During the summer, I work at Glazed Over Studios located on Asbury Avenue in Ocean City, New Jersey. I am the art camp instructor there from June until August. My camps consist of kids ages 6-13, and the class sizes range anywhere from 4 students to 8 students. We explore various mediums, including clay, mosaics, acrylic paint, water color paint, collage, and much more! It is a wonderful experience, and I will continue to be the summer art camp instructor for years to come! Posted below are numerous pictures that highlight the different projects and mediums that the kids have explored throughout their time at art camp. STEAM Camp
Stop-Motion Animation
Students developed a project design and then created their background images, as well as any props needed. The students used the iPads to create a short animated video using the Stop Motion app! An example of one of the videos can be seen below.
Squishy Circuits
Using Play doh, modeling clay, 9 volt batteries, red/black wires, and LED Diodes, students are able to create light due to the transfer of electricity through the sculpting materials!
Clay Camp
Students created a wide range of unique and detailed clay projects throughout the week of clay camp. Each student designed and developed their own ideas. We took a tour of the kiln room as well in order to see how their creations turned into bisque and then greenware.
Painting Camp
Throughout this camp, students learned different painting techniques and dabbled in various types of paint, including watercolors, acrylic paint, and tempera paint.
